Preparing Teacher Leaders: Perceptions of the Impact of a Cohort-Based, Job Embedded, Blended Teacher Leadership Program

This study was designed to examine teachers’ and principals’ perceptions of the impact of a graduate program designed to prepare teacher leaders. Impact was investigated through interviews with 20 graduates and 6 principals. the study documents perceived transformation of teachers’ frames of reference: two related to teaching, and two related to leadership.

A review of research on the impact of professional learning communities on teaching practice and student learning

A review of the impact of professional learning communities (PLCs) on teaching practices and student learning was the subject of ten American studies and one English study. Collective results of the studies suggested that well developed PLCs have positive impact on both teaching practice and student achievement.

Personal Epistemologies and Learning to Teach

This study investigated the question, how do pre service teachers approach their learning in a unified teacher education program?Through extensive interviews with 14 participants over the course of two semesters, the researchers gained insight into the pre service teachers' learning process and related epistemological beliefs. By understanding these beliefs, teacher educators may be able to improve instruction and learning in teacher education.
